PROBABILITY
Before starting this topic, let's remember something about fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Probability is basically the chance of something happening.
Equally likely events are events that have the same theoretical probability (or likelihood) of occurring.
You might want to know the chance of it raining today, the chance of getting heads or tails, the chance of rolling an even, the chance of getting picked for something. All of these chances have a numerical value called the probability of the event occurring.
Probabilities are written as fractions, decimals, and percents.
You can determine the fraction and then convert to the decimal or percent form.
For equally likely events we have that probability of an event A is the ratio between favorable cases and the total of possible cases. That is:
